Issues with packaging and unpacking a course

Mar 06, 2012

Hi there,

I'm a relatively new user of Articulate Studio '09 and am having a challenge with sharing files across multiple designers.

When we use the Save and Send as an Articulate package, we are able to successfully package the course up for the other designer.  When we extract the files on the other end, and open the presentation, then try to edit one of the interactions, it cannot find the file, we have to point it to the file in the folder it is in.

Is there something we should be doing differently? Should we be moving the files once we extract them?

Cheers,

Jamie

There's a known issue with "second-generation" Articulate package files sometimes omitting the Engage interactions and Quizmaker quizzes under certain circumstances. You should take a look at this knowledgebase article for more info: http://www.articulate.com/support/presenter09/kb/?p=2416

Also, I beleive that someone sells a widget that can be used to help resolve this problem. Search for "Project Beacon" and you should be able to find this.

Thanks, Melanie for the post - that is valuable information, because I've had that happen as well.  It does not, unfortunately, solve my issue. (That said, it does explain why they won't  re-publish for me if I try to return the files to my colleague.)

The issue is that when I unpack the materials from the original file, the interactions are all there, but if I attempt to edit one of the interactions within the PPT file, I get the error that the interaction cannot be found.  If I navigate to the file and make the connection for Engage, it's fine.
