Presenter not always including current Engage Interactions
Jul 01, 2011
Hello,
I am developing several courses in Articulate Presenter, each included a few Engage Interactions.
Most of the time if I make an update to an Engage interaction, the update is included in the published Presenter file. and everythign works fine when it is posted on our LMS system.
Sometimes if I make an update to anEngage within a course ... when I republish the course - updates that were fine before my last change (to an Engage that I haven't touched /changed recently) - sometimes reverts back to a previous version of the Engage - (even though it had published fine since any last changes were incorporated).
Whe I republish - I always put the Zip file into an empty folder and from that pull the file into our LMS. This could be an LMS issue, because I can preview it after publishing and creating a ZIp - but when it is reviewed on the LMS - these intermittent changes in an Engage sometime display.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks!
Cary

Hi Cary and welcome to Heroes! I would suggest taking a look at these articles to see if they help:

Thank you. This looks like helpful information – I appreciate it!!
No problem. If the answers there don't help, let me know and we can figure out what's up.
Thanks Justin, had the same problem, the procedure in the article solved it!

I am having the same issue, however, the two articles are not the solution for me. I moved the entire package to a new location, re-linked and edited my interactions, published one time and tried viewing in two different browsers (so no cache issue), and half still do not show the change. I have over 30 and really do not want to re-place them as I then have to go in and re-hide, set advanced by user, re-insert audio on first slide, etc.
I followed the advice in a different post and opened the interactions in Engage without the PPT being open, saved and closed them. When I went pack to the PPT, the interactions previewed properly and ultimately published with the interaction updates. Can someone please tell me why this made a difference?
Hi Kriss,
When you actually publish your presentation (as opposed to previewing it) and close PowerPoint, your PPTA file regenerates. My guess is that there was some corruption in your PPTA file that was cleared out when you reimported everything and republished.
