Turns out it is a problem either with a new MAC audio recorder release, or an issue in Presenter. All the MAC audio files were MONO, but Presenter was somehow building in a second track.
The fix: I loaded every WAV file into Audacity, then exported the file as a WAV. No editing, no changes at all.

Make sure you are using the recommended settings as noted here:

If you have iTunes, follow the steps I outline in that screencast to convert it to 16 bit 44 KHZ PCM WAV.
