Automatic slide change and Embedded Web Object
Jul 08, 2011
Wondering if there is a way to make a slide advance automatically after some action occurs on an embedded web page.
Our campus LMS will not handle Quizmaker details so, I have had to embed a web based survey in to the Presentation. At the end of the survey the user must click "Finish" to submit the survey, then click the pulsing NEXT SLIDE button at the bottom of the Presentation to continue.
Does anyone know of a way to make the slide advance when someone clicks a link in an embedded web object?
I tried doing it with slide timing, but of course, different users can take wildly different lengths of time to answer any group of questions, so that does not work.
I cannot think of any way and I just know that once we launch this project users will be confused when they click a button that says "finish" and the slide does not finish, but sits there doing nothing, waiting for them to click some other button, but not telling them that's what they must do.
Thanks, JP

I know you can with straight SWF file on a slide using the API. Not sure about an embedded page though. Probably some security in there to prevent it as it's a flash call across multiple pages within an LMS launched page.
Good question
You may be able to do this in javascript, the main problem you face is the webobject is really an iframe that sits on top of the articulate player and because of this has no real interaction with the player. there are a couple of forum posts about this and I dont think a solution was ever found
