Computer crashes when I attempt to add an MP4 video to a slide

Oct 09, 2014

I'm running Articulate Studio 13 update3.

I have a number of large MP4 files (around 1 hour duration each) which I had hoped to incorporate into an Articulate publication (separate publication for each video).

My first attempt worked fine. The video imported OK; publication went OK, and the result was what I wanted.

Subsequent attempt to produce similar publications with other videos have been unsuccessful. I use "Add video from file" option on the Articulate ribbon; the video starts to import (slowly) and then the computer crashes completely.

I've tried splitting the large video files into smaller segments to no avail (so it's not a file size issue). I even converted one of the videos to flv (using Articulate Video Encoder 09) but that didn't work either.

Anyone out there with similar experiences?

Hi Mel!

I have not heard of this as being a common problem for any of our users and normally I would recommend a repair of your software, but since you are not utilizing the latest update, I'm going to suggest that you upgrade to the latest Update 4.

When creating, editing, and publishing Articulate Presenter '13 courses, be sure you're working on your local hard drive (typically your C: drive).
