Crazy Talk and Articulate query

Sep 28, 2011

Hi all.

Just had a quick question. Has anyone used animated avatar packages and been successful in embedding them into Articulate? I am looking into the idea of using animated avatars (by using Crazy Talk) within training material created in Powerpoint and outputted in Articulate Presenter and was wondering whether anybody has successfully done this previously. Crazy Talk has the option of exporting created animations as SWF and FLV files, and although I know Articulate allows us to insert flash movies into presentations, I was hoping for the avatars to be a bit more engaging (i.e. the avatar walking onto the screen/popping up onto the screen and narrating, etc) as oppose to movies being played on a slide.

I'd be very interested in peoples experiences with this, any help or guidance would be useful.

Thank you

Harjinder,

For what you want to do,  the avatar walking onto the screen/popping up onto the screen and narrating, etc, I don't think you want to use CrazyTalk, which only has facial animation.  CrazyTalk Animator, by the same company does allow full body animation and will output to flv.  However, iClone4 (and now iClone5)  would be the way to go.  Both CrazyTalk Animator and iClone4 or 5 do have a learning curve.
