Difficulty uninstalling Studio Pro '09 trial

Jul 02, 2012

Running Windows 7.

When I try to uninstall from the Control Panel the InstallShield Wizard starts, but does not provide an option to uninstall. I have tried:

- Unchecking all four boxes (next to Presenter, Engage, Quizmaker and Video Encoder) and selecting Next, but InstallShield just reloads the window.

- Leaving all four boxes checked and selecting Next, but InstallShield asks me for the data2.cab file, which is nowhere to be found on my computer.

Appreciate any help you can provide.

Welcome to Heroes, Deb!

Sorry for the trouble. It doesn't sound like uninstalling going through Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and selecting the Articulate software you want to uninstall is working.

You can also uninstall Articulate software using our installer. First download the installer and save it to your desktop. Then, double-click the installer icon on your desktop (http://www.articulate.com/freetrial) and follow the instructions for removing the software.

If you're stil having trouble, please don't hesitate to contact our support team for further help. Thanks!

I've experienced the same problem - trying to UNINSTALL Articulate Studio '09  trial.

Downloaded a copy of the program again which required filling in my details which then lead to a callback from a reseller!!!!

Now that I have downloaded the installer again and run it, it is clearly trying to INSTALL rather than UNINSTALL again.  I will give it the benefit of the doubt and after installing, I am hoping the that Add/Remove Programs > Uninstall should work correctly.  If not, I'll not be very happy as I am wasting my valuable time.

Hello there, I am having diffculty removing the application. I am running the machine under admin rights but it does not remove it. I do not have the option to uninstall but all other application listed on the Programs and Features does have the option to uninstall. Tried removing it using the executable file but it just installs the "Articulate Studio `09".

There was a readme file that i found to remove by running "ArticulateStudioProfessional3.08.EXE /uninstall" in command prompt but no luck.

Any idea how to fix this.

thank you

JB

Hi JB,

Do you receive an error message when trying to uninstall Studio '09?

In some cases, corrupt registry settings can prevent Articulate Studio '09 from fully uninstalling. Follow these steps to completely remove Studio '09:

1) Open Windows Explorer, paste the following file path into the address bar (depending on your version of Windows), and press Enter:

32-bit Windows: C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information
64-bit Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallShield Installation Information

2) When the InstallShield folder opens, you'll see a series of folders with long alphanumeric names. Each folder represents an InstallShield program installed on your computer. We need to find the folder that represents your Studio '09 installation. In each folder, there's a setup.ini file. Open each setup.ini file in a text editor, like Notepad, until you find the one that says "AppName=Articulate Studio '09" at the top of the document.

3) When you've identified the InstallShield folder that represents your Studio '09 installation, rename the folder by adding -OLD to the end of it.

4) Next, go to the Control Panel and uninstall Articulate Studio '09. When you see a message saying the Studio installer can't be found, click Yes to remove it from your list of programs.

5) Also, uninstall Studio '13 if it's installed. (You can install a fresh copy at the end of these steps.)

6) Download and extract this zip file on your computer.

7) Right-click the res09-13Cleanup.bat file and select "Run as administrator." It only takes a few seconds to run.

8) Reboot your computer.
