Flash Video Stopped Working After Muting

Apr 23, 2013

Would really appreciate help.

.flv video was working fine in Presenter in the build stage, but needed it to be muted so that I could redo audio on the slide along with the video. I asked my original resource to re-format the video by simply muting the audio. He sent the files back to me this morning, however now they act like they are playing but it is just a black screen.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Duane

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes, Duane!

Sounds like the video was muted outside of Presenter then, is that correct? Are you able to view the video on its own, outside of Presenter?

Do you know if anything else was changed when your resource modified the original video, or have you possibly used a different method for inserting the new video?

Also, does the new video have the same file name? If you can, try renaming the file and insert it elsewhere in the presentation. Does the same thing happen?

Let me know how it goes!

Thanks,

Christinie

Thanks Christine!

Yes..you are correct. It was muted outside of Presenter. Because it is an .flv file, I cannot do it within Articulate Video Encoder. It can be viewed outside of Presenter.

Outside of simply muting it and calling it a different file name (muted), everything else was the same. Strange thing is that it acts like it is supposed to. I load it the same way, gives me options, actually plays, but a black screen.

Stumped...
