I have some slides with a picture as a background. To make the text easier to read I have applied a background with a semi-transparent background (white coloured 37% transparent) to the text box.
When I view this in Powerpoint it plays as it should. When I publish I get gaps appearing between the boxes. I'm sure I read something about this (possible a workaround?) a few weeks ago, but now I cant find the solution, so apologies if this has already been covered.
Thanks for the reply. I've attached a screenshot as requested. The top graphic shows how the presentation looks in powerpoint and when viewed as a slideshow in PowerPoint. The bottom graphic shows the gaps between text boxes when published.
If it makes a difference I've tried the file as both a .ppt and .pptx file and get the same result. (I'm using Office 2010)
Do your boxes have noline at the moment? Try setting a line (white same transparency) see if that fills the gap, also it may be the animation are you using wipe, try fade in instead
This is a strange, so I have had an experiment you can nudge them into place, take of the line and hold down ctrl and use your arrow keys, you need to overlap in ppt and they publish /preview fine, see the attached file
I looked at your presentation and then had a go with my presentation. It seems to be working, kind of
2 nudges seemed to be enough to get the first lot of text to flow with no gaps. Then on the next set gaps still occurred after 2 nudges. Over 35 slides with many pieces of text on each this will take ages to get right if I have to nudge then preview, nudge then preview.

Hey Grant, welcome to Heroes!
Would you mind attaching a screenshot so I can get a better idea of what you're seeing? Thanks!

Hi Peter are these seperate textboxes?
Hi Peter
They are all seperate text boxes set to appear at different times.
I didnt want one large text box as I dont want one large shaded box appearing on screen with no text appearing until sometime later
Thanks
Grant
Have you tried nudging them to overlap see if it publishes differently, I am not aware of a work around for this
Tried that. When they overlap on the powerpoint presentation they overlap on the final published version too.
Thanks

Its looking a bit better with a border but for some reason even with the same transparency the border seems darker than the box fill.
I've attached another screenshot

Thanks for the help though.
I ma be best just to use a single text box and cover the image, sorry best solution I have
