Going to Previous slide
Dec 03, 2013
Hi
I want my users to be able to go backwards through the slide pack in case they need a reminder or the automatic play goes too fast for them. (I don't want to give them a Next button as they may skip the content)
- I have set up Automatic movement and Free navigation in the overall Slide Properties
I inserted a Prev button on all the slides to achieve my objective but this does nothing.
DO the previous and next buttons only work if slide progress is user driven (as opposed to automatic). Is the only way to do this via the Menu?

Hi Gordon,
The option to move back with the Previous button still works with the "Automatically" navigation option enabled and the "Next" button disabled.
I would try checking your branching options - that's the only thing that comes to mind at the moment.
If you're using Studio '13, here's an example of how it should look:

I uploaded a very quick example (forgive the blank slides) to show how this functionality works:

Let me know how it goes!
This is what I have. And Prev doesn't work for me. Strange.
I have decided to make the Menu visible and enable Restricted movement. That works - users can skip back to previous slides without being able to skip forward.
Thanks - I have another question coming up.
Hi Gordon,
I'm glad you found another option that will work for you :) If you decide you prefer the other method, I'd be happy to take a look at what's going on.
No problem, just let us know if you have any other questions.
Thanks!
