Hanging Indent

May 17, 2012

Hi there - I am running into an odd issue.  In a text box, I have created hanging indent paragraphs that look great in PPT, but when I publish (or preview), the hanging indent is gone.  Is this a known issue??

Hey Brent!

Mind sending us your files so we can take a closer look at what's going on? Please create an Articulate Presenter package, then upload the zip file to our server. You can review how to do this here:

Send to Articulate Presenter Package – Articulate Presenter ’09 Help

Upload the resulting zip file from your computer to our server using this upload form:

Please be sure to include a description of your issue, your version of PowerPoint, version of Windows and version of Presenter '09, which you can find in Help and Support -> About Articulate Presenter. Please also include the URL for this thread so I can follow up with you personally in the forums. And feel free to come back and leave your case number here so I can keep a close eye on it. Thanks!

Hi there Julian and welcome to E-learning Heroes!

This issue and the solutions here were posted quite some time ago. Could you please let us know if you're using Studio '09 or '13?

If this is only happening after publishing, please make sure you aren't viewing the published output files locally. If you view a published Studio '13 or '09 presentation on your local hard drive or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail.

To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published. Please review the article below for more information:

Tips for Managing Project Files

If that doesn't help, it may be related to how the text was added to PowerPoint/Presenter. Did you copy and paste the text from another application like Microsoft Word?

If so, please try the following:

1) Highlight your problematic text in PowerPoint.
2) Right click on your text and choose copy.
3) Paste the text into Notepad.
4) Highlight your text in Notepad.
5) Right click on your text in notepad and copy.
6) Go back to PowerPoint, create a new text box and paste the text into the new textbox.

Hi Christine,

Thank you for the quick reply. I am using Studio '09 with Office 2003 as well. I will try uploading it to the LMS and see if that makes a difference.

I received the original PowerPoint file (.ppt) with unformatted text. It was my task to make it look nice, so I formatted all of the text myself using PowerPoint's panels. Hopefully, it will be resolved after I upload. Thanks again!
