Help creating a "Completed/ Greyed Out" Icon
Apr 01, 2013
Good Evening Everyone!
I currently have Studio '09 (Presenter for this situation) and some feedback that I have received from learners is "How do they know that they have completed a certain topic?" What they are referring to is... let's say I have a screen with 5 graphics that has "Click Here to learn more" for each of the 5 graphics (chapters). Once they click on a graphic, it branches out into the individualized topic. Once they complete that "chapter", it brings them back to a navigation page. The problem is...the navigation screen doesn't have a check mark or grayed out icon or anything like that which signifies that they have completed that chapter. The learners can't remember which "chapters" they have seen and which they haven't. Is there a way that I can let the learner know which "chapters" they have completed at the end of each branched scenario?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Jennifer

Hallo, Jennifer!
You can create multiple slides with check marks.
After user completes topic, he don't return to previous menu, but to a new slide with your check mark.
But in this case learner should go through presentation in a linear way.
This functionality has Zenler, but it's not as good as Articulate.
So, may be Storyline will better meet your needs?
Thanks, Andreas! I really appreciate your reply.
Yes, unfortunately, our course needs to not be linear :( From what you are saying Storyline may offer a variable that checks things off even if not completed in linear fashion? If so, I may have to look into that.
Again, thanks for your help!
Jenn,
This is quite easy in Storyline with button states. Learner clicks a button, and when they return it's a different color, has a check mark on it, etc.

Jenn,
I think what you would like to do could be done in Presenter, using hyperlinks. Take a look at Kevin Thorn's Mission Turfgrass course. Between the combination of hyperlinks and the rucksack items, the learner knows what sections of the course they've completed.
