Help! Presenter is not operating properly!

May 29, 2012

Why this happened?

I inserted the video into the top left corner then published. During the play process, once I paused after 1-2 minutes, the courseware would jump to the next page automatically when I clicked on the play button.

Welcome to Heroes, David!

Sorry to hear you're running into trouble. So we can get a clear idea of what's happening and to be able to help you resolve the issue, I'd recommend sending us your files. Please create an Articulate Presenter package, then upload the zip file to our server. You can review how to do this here:

Send to Articulate Presenter Package – Articulate Presenter ’09 Help

Upload the resulting zip file from your computer to our server using this upload form:

Please be sure to include a description of your issue, your version of PowerPoint, version of Windows and version of Presenter '09, which you can find in Help and Support -> About Articulate Presenter. Please also include the URL for this thread so I can follow up with you personally in the forums. And feel free to come back and leave your case number here so I can keep a close eye on it. Thanks!

Hi again, David!

Just wanted to update this thread for others who might experience the same issue as you. We have confirmed the issue with pausing a slide that contains an FLV file in the Presenter panel.

Pausing a slide that contains a .flv or .mp4 in the presenter panel, will pause the slide and the .flv/.mp4 video, but the slide time silently continues to advance. When the play button is selected, the timeline and flv/.mp4 will jump ahead to match the silently advanced time.

In effect, the pause button visually seems to stop playback until the play button is selected again. When inserting the flv/.mp4 and setting the method of advance to automatically advance or when users clicks next has on effect on this issue.

The workaround for this is to use a SWF file instead of an FLV file for your video in the Presenter panel.

Hope this resolved the issue for you. Thanks again for your patience
