Help with Course Completion

Mar 26, 2013

Hello All,

I have been working with my LMS vendor for the past week on this issue (SumTotal/Maestro) and they can not figure out cause. Perhaps someone here has had a similar issue or will know what to do.

Have been using a bunch of Articulate courses I created in our LMS. We have used the courses for over a year with no problems. Starting a few days ago, our users started to report issues with completing courses. First, I thought user issue, but more and more people are reporting the same issue: They pass the test with the required score, then close out the course, yet the LMS is registering the score as 0% and therefore marking it as incomplete.

This is NOT happening to all users. About half from what we can tell.

I spent a few hours trying to recreate problem, all different scenarios, browsers, ect and I kept passing/completing just fine and then finally had the same problem. Could this be a setting somewhere in Articulate that would effect some users but not all?

I use Studio 09, and these courses have quizmaker tests

Welcome to the community, Rachel!

If you're able to narrow down the specific browser that throws the issue, it would be very helpful.

For example, this sounds a lot like an issue with IE 10 that we've recently discovered and fixed with an update.

If you're experiencing the issue outside of IE 10, would you mind testing your course in SCORM Cloud to help us determine if the issue is Articulate-related or if it's on your LMS's side? If it appears in SCORM Cloud as well, we'd be happy to take a closer look at what might be going on. If you can't replicate the issue in SCORM Cloud, it's probably an issue that you'd want to take to your LMS team. The articles here and here may also help clear up common LMS issues.

Thanks, Rachel, and welcome again

Thanks Peter. I was excited about the possibility about IE 10, but no, we have users in Chrome and Firefox with same issues.

Its just so strange since its not happening to everyone, and we've been using these courses for sometime now!

I did upload one of the courses to the cloud and is playing fine but not showing as completed. So I will submit a case to see if you can figure out what is happening.

Thank you!

Hi Rana and welcome to E-Learning Heroes! I cannot track down a case for Rachel above, so I have no update to provide you with at this time.
