How to Find Out if SCORM Files are HTML5 Compatible?

Jul 29, 2020

We have around 150 SCORM files built with Studio 13. Due to not so stringent publishing guidelines, we are not aware as to which of the courses have "HTML5 output" enabled. Unfortunately, we don't have the time and budget to upgrade the courses to Studio 360 this year. But we want to analyze the courses that can work after Flash goes offline.  What is the easy way to test these SCORM files?

All these courses are currently live on our LMS, and I thought we could launch each one of them from an iOS device to see if it works perfectly(as I understand iOS doesn't support flash at all).  Please suggest if this will work. Are there any other ways that will make our lives easier?

Thanks in advance :)

Hi Sudharsanam,

Happy to help shed some light on this! Since your courses were built using Studio 13', even if it did have the HTML5 output selected, they will only work in Google Chrome and Safari. They won’t work reliably in other browsers. This article sheds more light on that:

Instead of testing everything in an iOS device, you may also want to disable Flash from your browser to test your files and see what works and what doesn't. A quick Google search led me to this article which can help.
