How to get Slide Number from API endpoint? (Tin Can / custom LMS)
Mar 25, 2014
Upon completion of each slide the API sends a request to the Tin Can endpoint with a verb of "experienced" and an object id of some random looking code. There is no indication what slide number was viewed.
We track each slide viewed and require a unique ID on each slide to ensure we aren't tracking the same slide twice. I was hoping the unique ID would simply be the auto-generated slide # we see on the presentation menu. But that's nowhere to be found within the content passed to our Tin Can endpoint.
2 examples:
[object] - [id] = http://course_id_1/6CMHIkXKTdJ
[object] - [id] = http://course_id_1/67cJ7ehFXJ9
Granted, these are probably unique IDs but I'd much rather have basic slide numbers than this.

The Tin Can API allows an activity to be defined within the tincan.xml file or directly within a statement. Articulate defines activities in the tincan.xml file.
So you should cross reference the ID's with the tincan.xml file.
