How to place Notes to appear below the player bar?

Dec 13, 2011

Hi everyone. I'm new to Articulate and I am trying to find out how or if it is possible to adjust the Notes pane to appear/extend below the player bar, instead of to the side or above it?

The particular courses we are developing do not use the sidebar in order to maximize content in the available screen area. The issue is that the Notes (when set to appear at the bottom), displays over the slide and potentially some content. This is an issue I have in Captivate as well, when the closed-captioning appears on top of content. I've seen other training course's notes/transcript placed below the player bar, and I think they were developed using Articulate.

I don't see a way to specify the placement of the Notes to this position in Articulate's player settings.

Would this then require a custom player template developed with the SDK? Any help pointing me in the right direction to figure this out or if someone is familiar with a third-party template that has already been created to solve this problem (free or to buy), please reply with the link to more info.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hey Christopher, welcome to Heroes!

It sounds like you've discovered that you can move the notes to the bottom of your presentation as outlined here:

http://www.articulate.com/support/presenter09/kb/?p=1708

But as you say, out of the box, the Presenter notes will overlay some of your content. Depending on your comfort level, I'd encourage you to take a look at our community skins:

But please keep in mind, we don't offer official support for custom skins or the SDK. Good luck!
