How to upload Presenter file to eFront Learning

Sep 05, 2015

I am just trying out eFront Learning and am stuck trying to upload an Articulate Presenter file.  I'm going through the SCORM upload.  I did save my presenter output file as a ZIP but when I try uploading it gives an error that only certain file types are accepts (PDF, PPT, Word, XLS).  Any ideas on how to get the file uploaded would be helpful.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. Yes, eFront does have SCORM capabilities and there are specific upload instructions that I followed using the LMS output from Presenter. Unfortunately, when I upload the ZIP file it keeps saying its not the correct file type. I was hoping that someone else used eFront that might have some pointers.

Hi Judi,

It's not an LMS I've seen mentioned often here in the forums - but hopefully someone is able to pop in and share their thoughts. I assume the instructions indicate to use the zip file - but have you tried just the published output folder not zipped? You mentioned that it said "only certain file types are accepts (PDF, PPT, Word, XLS)" and there are many more file types in the published output than that such as your image files, the HTML files, etc. So I'd defer to the expertise of the LMS in regards to how you should look at publishing and uploading content into their site.

SOLVED...in case anyone else finds this useful, here is the solution.  Basically you need to open your ZIP folder and identify every single extension of every file in the folder.  Then, in eFront Learning, go to administrative settings, and edit the "allowable extensions".  Make sure to include each extension used in your ZIP.  This will resolve the issue and the ZIP folder should upload.

Hi Noelah,

I'm not sure if Judi or others are still subscribed here, but have you reached out to eFront to see if they have any suggestions on what you should do to upload your files there? Typically I look at uploading the entire published output folder to the hosting site, so if your LMS or web server requires a different set up I'd defer to them.
