Ok... So I just was hired to do training and build a program and was asked if I know Articulate/Captivate !!! Please help! I think the Captivate may be a better tool than Storyline ? I dont know ! Im a little scared !
@Peg, since you posted in the Presenter forum, I assume you use Presenter (or Studio). There is no comparison between Captivate and Presenter. Captivate is an authoring environment (comparable only to Storyline), Presenter is a plug-in for PowerPoint. Which tool is best for you depends on your requirements, budget, level of experience, time to learn a new tool, etc.
OK - you say you have "...been hired to "do" training, and "build a program".
What exactly do they want you do do? Do they know? Has it already been decided that "online learning..." of some sort if the way to go? What are the other things (coaching, mentoring, learning on the job etc.) that will surround this - as eLearning is seldom ever the answer - it is only ever PART of the answer.
Only when you really know these answers, (which you may do already...), will you know what the correct tool/tools for the job are. It may be, for example, that only a small % of the learning actually uses the "elearning", and that a lot of the content points to other web resources and so on.
Be sure of the complete strategy before committing to tactics.

I don't use Captivate, but Articulate is a great tool. Do you have Storyline 1 or 2 or Presenter?
Articulate is very easy to use, there are tons of tutorials to get you up to speed and a lively community to help.

Hello Peg!
As Michael stated, it would be better to compare Captivate to Storyline.
You may want to also post over in the Building Better Courses forum. You may get more opinions on how Articulate products work overall.
