LMS Question for "OLD" Articulate vs. '09

Hi,

This is one that is puzzling me...

I am working with a client. They have a client, and I was asked to produce an "Articulate" course.

I have done so, and they are liking what I have done.

I thought it prudent to get an unfinished LMS version over to them, just to check it loaded all OK.

They cannot get it to load or track; here is an extract of the latest email trail:

The guys at xx have uploaded the course to Moodle and it will not launch on that platform either. They have also debugged the course and spent a lot of time trying to make it work but the course is not responding to the CMI calls..... Indeed we have other articulate material tracking fine....it is just this module..."

At one point they asked me to produce it "...on an older version of Articulate...", so it occurs to me there may be a difference there, and that their system may not, for some reason be recognising AP'09.

I uploaded the course to Articulate Online account, and got it to immediately report a status of "Incomplete" based on running 5 slides (value set to complete @ 24/29). I also got a colleague to run, and instantly have SCORM reporting success the same way on Joomla.

So....any ideas on where we should be looking? I am concerned that "debugging" and "CMI calls" have been investigated, but have not other clue where to look, or what they may be looking at!

In 12 years and over 3000 SCORM modules in a variety of applications, I have only ever had one other failure, and that turned out to be the LMS!  This is also the first failure they have experienced in 7 years, so naturally think it is me.

I know (hope...) the error is at their end somewhere, but not sure where to look next.

Help, in words that a techno-gumby can understand would be hugely appreciated.

Hi Bruce!

As you suggest, it is most likely an issue with their LMS, not Articulate's software or the course you've designed. Have you suggested they take a look at our article on troubleshooting Articulate/LMS issues?

I don't see older versions of Articulate being a practical solution. Let us know how this unfolds...

Bruce have you got th moodle fix http://www.articulate.com/support/presenter09/kb/?p=1022 for articulate can be a reason why the course will not track, AP09 works great in moodle let me know if you need any help you have my email address, we use moodle and I can always give you access to our site or test it for you
