Looking for a sample course that I can download

Feb 23, 2011

Hello -

I'm just trying out Articulate Studio (30 day trial), along with some other authoring programs, and I would love to be able to download a Sample Course so that I could test out publishing it and bringing it into our LMS, assign it to a user or two, and make sure it all works ok from the users end.

Articulate support says they offer no sample courses for download. (Lectora was able to provide me with a range of sample courses that I could download, open, edit, see the "guts" of, and publish.)

Is anyone out there willing to share a course that they've created with me to play around with and test publish?

I really don't care what the content is. Something with various forms of media (audio, video, animation) would be great and also something with a test included.

Thanks! Please email me if this is possible...

Ben,

The course I have created is a semester long course for high school US History students.  I surely don't mind sharing with you, but don't know that what I have is even worth you testing.  I do have one module that uses Presenter and has videos embedded along with the use of Engage for interactivity.  I have unfortunately had to shy away much from using Quizmaker in my lessons as the SCORM does not work great with Blackboard.  (It is a Blackboard issue though.)

What format will your LMS accept?  SCORM 1.2 or 2004 or AICC?  The stuff I have made has been published SCORM 1.2.

I am willing to help you if I can, just let me know.

Here's the SCORM 2004 published version:

(tracking set to slides viewed with status set to Complete/Incomplete)

And here's the source of that same course:

To really test the content in your LMS, it's a good idea to download our free trials and play around with the various reporting and tracking settings to see what works best in your environment.

Here's a good place to learn how to publish for LMS:

Hi Jugal,

This forum discussion is much older (it may be the oldest one I've seen!) so I don't know that those links still are live, but I'll reach out to the team and check. You could look at using some of the files as part of the ELH examples page as there are a lot of games and quizzes there that you could publish for SCORM 1.2 and then upload to your LMS.

Hi Jugal- thanks for asking.

Like Ashley said, this thread is really old, so those examples would be dated at this point (they were created with Presenter '09, which is a couple major versions old at this point).

As Ashley suggested, your best bet would be to download an example, then publish it using Presenter '13 or Presenter 360.

You can download a free trial of Studio '13 here or sign up for a free trial of Articulate 360 here, if need be.
