Movement animations choppy/missing

May 30, 2013

I have the beginnings of a course start that has several elements animate on screen, one after the other (fade in, slide from the left, slide from the left, slide from the top). For some reason the fade works, the first slide from the left shows as an "appear", the second slide from the left works perfectly, and the slide from the top also shows as an "appear". These animations work perfectly in the PPT slideshow. Does anyone know what is causing this issue or a potential workaround?

Hi there Seth,

What are you applying the animations to? Sounds like you might be trying to use slide transitions (which are not supported), but I'm not entirely sure.

Also, you mention that they work perfectly in the slideshow, but are they working when you preview using the Articulate menu?

It may help to review the following article:

Supported PowerPoint Animations

If you could provide some additional information on the exact animations, what you're applying them to and where you see the choppiness, I'd appreciate it :)

Thanks Seth!

No. These are movement animations on a single slide. These animations do not work as they are supposed to in preview or published.

Edit: Note that the Articulate recording is on the default 5 second animation schedule as no timings have been inserted.

Hi there Seth,

Thanks very much for getting back to me and sharing those screencasts. It does look strange - I can definitely see the how the placement differs and the transitions aren't smooth.

Are you able to share the presentation with us? We'd be happy to take a look a the file and see what may be causing this behavior.
