My text box disappears or text is larger when published

Sep 23, 2011

I have several slides that have title text boxes with the correct font size. When I publish in Presenter some of the text boxes are gone and a few of the others are making the text so large it goes off the edge of the slide. I have gone back and double checked my master slide and it has the text boxes and proper size font. Any suggestions as to how to fix it? Thanks

Hi Stacy & welcome to Heroes,

I apologize for the issues that you're having.  If you have published a presentation and notice that some of your slide does not display in the published output it is likely you are not using a supported slide dimension. Please see:

http://www.articulate.com/support/presenter09/kb/?p=202

If the above link does not cure the issue, then the issue may be related to your DPI setting. Articulate products currently support 96 DPI. If your system’s DPI is set to 120, this can cause erratic behavior using Presenter ’09 and is not supported by Articulate. For more information, see the link below:

I have checked both these settings (slide dimensions for output and DPI) and both were set as the above links indicated they should be. i am using a template I downloaded from the Articulate website, could that have something to do with it? I am not sure what else to check. Someone else had advised it could be because its not a font supported by Articulate so I changed everything to a common font type (Arial). I think it has something to do with the Slide Master. Is there a setting I am missing to make sure text on th slide master makes it when the file is published? Thanks for your help.

Hi Stacy - I had this too - and found that it happened if my text boxes were larger than the amount of text contained within them.

For example, if I hit enter after typing my text, thus creating an 'empty' line below my text, then when I published the text box and text within increased to crazy sizes. As long as I kept my text boxes wrapped snugly around the text with no extra blank lines, this hasn';t happened again. I don't know why, but this is the only thing I have done differently.

Cheers,

Sarah.

Hi there,

I am having the same issue.  Everything looks fine in my version and then when I publish it, the text all changes and it messes up the slide.  Not on every slide, but several.  The links provided below in the previous post do not work for me.  Any help would be nice.  Thanks.

I am having a similar issue - the text fields dissappear after packaging, or are swapped out with a different text field or size. The DPI is not the issue, the page dimensions are also fine. The above article links don't work - it appears all Articulate Forum links now go to the main page, not a specific article (just click the links above and you'll see  - at least with Chrome). if the PPTX is "corrupt", how do I fix?

Hello Jason!

Since this is a dated discussion, we'll want to start fresh! It sounds like after publishing your project in Presenter the text boxes are distorted. Is that correct?

If so, we'll want to take a look at your project to test it on our end. You can upload the Articulate Package to us in a support case. Please also include the version of Presenter as well.
