Pre Pay for Storyboard?

Hi All,

I’d like to ‘represent’ a simple idea I failed miserably to get off the ground last year.  I’d like start to prepay, via a payment plan, for my version of Storyline.

I’m not sure when the new version is to be released OR the exact price. So I’d ask Articulate the company to set up a Layaway (lay-by in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Great Britain) or a mechanism to pre-purchase my version of Storyline.

The benefits are obvious for both parties:

From a User perspective
• It allows me to chip away at the cost of a new version without paying the entire cost at once;
• Negatively, I wear the risk as if the company was to go broke I would probably lose my investment;
• With the above risk in mind, maybe Articulate would offer a discount to those ready to start the payment scheme?

• Great for people who need to expend their IT/software budget now – before losing it?

From a Company/Business perspective
• The company gets a true indication of users ready to pre purchase the product – a very powerful forecasting indicator;
• An excellent idea to lock in attract new users;

• Improves cash flow for the company – huge challenge for organisations;
• Allows the company for more accurately forecast company financials – makes for a very Happy Articulate CFO;

• Negatively, this scheme would have an administrative overhead – however, I believe this would be a nice problem to have;

• Articulate might also consider a layaway/Layby post release I suspect that could be useful for some smaller organisations or single operator users?

I know we have the Platinum Membership Plan, however this is a ’big bang’ approach – not a pay it off approach.

Anyway this approach works all over the world in other sectors – so why not pre-purchase software apps.  Thoughts?
