Presenter exporting SCORM in different languages

Jul 12, 2023

I have been having numerous issues recently with publishing using the Presenter add-on in PowerPoint.

Our ENG presentations are sent out to translation companies who when do what they need to, so I am then left with a folder of presentations in different languages.

Everything looks fine when I go to publish, but when we preview it afterwards and put it in SCORM Cloud, there are often slides that are in a different language (one that the presentation has been converted into), and sometimes text is missing from the slides etc.

Is this an issue with Presenter, or could it be an issue with how the Presentations are being built/edited by the translation company? Do you have any ideas what might be causing this and how to fix it? This happens regularly and wastes a lot of time at my job (and is honestly making me seem incompetent).

I'm not able to share the files as they are confidential.

Hello Charmaine,

Happy to help!

We're not seeing this issue being reported by our other users, and text in PowerPoint files don't generally change to other languages unless specified by authors. If you are seeing text in your files disappearing or appearing in a different language, this may be accidental changes that were made by your course's translators.

One troubleshooting step that you can do is to make sure that your courses are being translated according to the steps listed in this article:

Additionally, you'll want to make sure that the original source file ie being left untouched as much as possible. If the issue persists after making sure that the original source files are not being altered in any way, try doing a repair of Studio 360 to see if this helps.
