Preview and published module freezes

Apr 25, 2012

Hi,

I have just developed a lengthy e-Learning presentation (49 slides) with quite a few images but it starts to freeze at slide 40. The audio is still playing but the animations are delayed or do not show up.

I have already changed the settings to 15 slides per second but it hasn't made any difference and I compressed all images in the slides.

Does anyone have any other ideas to get this problem fixed?

Welcome to Heroes, Eva!

Would you like to send us your files to see if we can reproduce the issue and offer some help? If so, please create an Articulate Presenter package, then upload the zip file to our server. You can review how to do this here:

Send to Articulate Presenter Package – Articulate Presenter ’09 Help

Upload the resulting zip file from your computer to our server using this upload form:

Please be sure to include a description of your issue, your version of PowerPoint, version of Windows and version of Presenter '09, which you can find in Help and Support -> About Articulate Presenter. Please also include the URL for this thread so I can follow up with you personally in the forums. And feel free to come back and leave your case number here so I can keep a close eye on it. Thanks!

Hi Eva!

Just curious to know if Cleo's below suggestion helped resolve the issue you were experiencing:

"The freezing issue may have to do with the contents used. I suggest that you try to optimize the contents. If you are using PowerPoint 2007 or 2010, you may be able to optimize your presentation using the macro described in the following article, which will reduce the amount of time and processing power required to publish with Presenter '09. Please note that this method is not officially supported by Articulate:

I would also suggest that you try to convert/simplify your grouped images/text to single image files. Simply select all grouped objects/image/text, right-click on it and select "Save as Picture". Save it as .PNG and then delete the objects on the slide and replace it with your saved image."

I am have the same issue.  I've recently simplified all of the images I could (since I saw Tom in Jacksonville, FL a few weeks ago and he made that recommendation).

My presentation is shorter than others I've used in the past, and I saved all of the .png images I could, but I'm having the issue now.

When the publising process freezes, my Task Manager shows that Presenter is "not responding."  The updated presentation gets stuck at an Engage slide each time.  It doesn't display the Engage interaction.  I tried removing 1 Engage (I have 3 total in the presentation), but it doesn't seem to help.

This seems to be working.  I realize now, I used to do this anyway, but in an attempt to save time saving it to my hard drive and then transferring over to my network drive I was trying to save it right there.

Now I really know what the waste of time is!!!!!!!

Thanks!  I won't get that time back, BUT I won't make that mistake again.
