Preview and Publishing Errors

May 25, 2012

For the last few weeks I have been putting together a serious of BASIC modules. During that time frame I have been experiencing issues with Articulate throughout out my development. Now I am trying to preview and publish slides. I have been working all morning and the other two modules I have worked on published just fine. Then on my third module I got an error message about my add-ins. I went through and disembled the addins and then reassembled them. I am not sure why Articulate is having these issues. One minute its fine the next it's not.

Looking through the site I have found others with similar issues but it seems to be more when advance users are tyring to make multiple things happen at one time. In this case,  I have added in only a few animations and recordings throughout the entire module. Most of them only consist of anywhere to 5 to 40 slides so it is not a big file. I also recently upgraded my computer so I know it is not a memory or computer issue.

It is super frustrating to have to dig for troubleshooting solutions just about everytime I use the product. If anyone has ways for me to fix these issues I would be greatful for the suggestions.

Hi Alisha,

I'm really sorry to hear about the issues you're running into, but I'd encourage you to take a look at this article to see if it can help prevent the same issues from occurring in the future. I'd stop short of repairing your Microsoft installation, but rather contact our support team instead, if the other troubleshooters don't do the trick.

You also mentioned a new computer. If you have a Dell or Lenovo computer, you may be experiencing a known conflict between SoundMax or Corel WinDVD and PowerPoint, which can cause the preview and publish features in Articulate Presenter to fail (in addition to recording narration, importing audio, syncing animations, and adding annotations). SoundMax and Corel WinDVD often come pre-installed on Dell and Lenovo computers. You will need to uninstall these programs to resolve the conflict they create with PowerPoint. Additional information on this issue can be found here.

And if you have Avast antivirus installed, the publishing process may not complete. For more details on this issue, please read here.

Again, we're really sorry for the frustration thus far, but we're confident we can get this resolved and ensure that you don't encounter these issues in the future. And remember that our support team is always available to help.
