Publishing a course after building it in demo mode

Sep 07, 2011

Hi All,

While we were still using the demo of the software, I built a course that includes Engage Interactions as well as a Quizmaker Quiz. We have since bought and installed the Articulate Suite on several of our computers. I can publish and play the course on the laptop I built it in, but when I send the file to another desktop, save it, then publish it, the player is freezing with a blank screen when it comes to the first interaction. I'm able to send and publish individual interactions just fine, so I'm confused.

Does anyone know what's going on and what I can do to fix the issue?

Thanks!

Thanks Brian. I actually had no idea about the Articulate Presenter Package feature which worked great when I tried it on a test course I built. However, I'm still having issues with the course that I built in demo mode. No matter what I tried, the Engage interactions wouldn't show up when sent to another computer, even when everything was sent as a package. Furthermore, the narration I had recorded wouldn't work on another computer either. What I ended up doing was saving the course from the Presenter Package, deleting the interactions from the course, saving the interactions, then adding them back in. This finally worked fine but I'm confused why I would have to do all this.

Hi Christine,

It sounds like the link between the PowerPoint file and the PPTA file had broken when you moved it.  Thus, creating the issues that you were experiencing.  By deleting the interactions & resaving them, you allowed the PPTA file to regenerate the link to it.  Thus, when you used the "Send to Articulate Presenter Package" feature to move the file at that time, everything worked as expected.

Check out the link below & watch Jeanette's awesome screencast about the PPTA file:
