Publishing problems
Dec 28, 2011
Hi everyone!
Hope we all had a nice holiday This is my first go with Articulate and i'm having a few issues:-
When I select publish -> web, it will create all the slides nicely, produce a lovely folder on my desktop, but when i open the player.htm file in there, i just get a blank player with no slideshow? Also, i can see no .FLV file to try that directly.
What am i missing folks? Screen shot attached of what I get when I open player.htm

are you trying to run locally, it may be a security issue, to circumvent this to test locally it is best to publish to CD and run the exe file
If you have uploaded the course this may help http://www.articulate.com/support/presenter09/kb/?p=1199
Hi Phil,
Thanks for getting back to me. Same problem if i publish to CD, and I have tried uploading to my server too, exactly the same problem.
Any ideas?
John
are you running the exe file? Did you follow the instructions in the link I posted. It may be worth upgrading your flash player.
Normally slide 100 of 160 means the xmls are being corrupted, are you trying to run the player.html from the zip file?
There was no EXE file - screenshot attached. Tried to open artpresenter.exe but nothing happened. Opened player.html to same result.
Published to HTML using binary as link suggested, no luck.
You should get a file called Launch_Presentation.exe which you need to use to run the presentation, strange, you could try republishing, are you using Studio 2009?
Hmmm, just my luck!
Tried re-publshing a couple of times, also tried different powerpoints. Yes i am using studio 2009 - is it worth reinstalling maybe?
It is worth submitting a case to articulate, a reinstall might work, make sure you are suing the latest version from their site
Cheers phil - case submitted
As a work around just drop this intyo the root of the published file and doubleclick should let you see if it is a security issue
Cheers phil, same problem again tho. The exe loads, loads the player, but we still have the slide 100 out of 160 blank page problem :(
Damn this is frustrating!
Sounds like a problem with your installation, are you publishing to a shared drive/USB Drive? Or is the path length greater than 256 characters, these are some of the things that can have an effect, looks like you need some articulate support though.
Hi Phil,
Turns out I was being a numb nut and had installed version 5 (which isnt compatible with office 2010) rather than 09.
Doh!
Thanks for your help though
John
