Removing unused text from a translation file?

May 05, 2017

Hello everyone,

I'm preparing a module for translation into several languages using Articulate Presenter. I've named all my slides, edited my menu and named all the objects, yet when I export the translation file, I still have a bunch of assets with names such as "Untitled Slide" and "Header" (see attached).

I don't want to send out the translation file like this, I don't want to take up the time of my translators with these. I've combed through my PowerPoint slides looking for anything that may cause these, but I can't seem to find anything that isn't properly named.

Any ideas? Thank you in advance!

Hi there Chris,

When you exported this translation file, did you click Articulate Tab >> Translate or Review Tab >> Translate?

From the Articulate Tab, only Articulate-related items will be exported—Presenter player elements (slide titles, navigation buttons, player tabs, etc.), embedded quizzes, and embedded interactions.

From the Review Tab, PowerPoint slide content and notes will be exported. It's often easier and more accurate to provide translators with a copy of the PowerPoint file rather than extracting its text, letting them translate in context with the other slide objects. See step 5 here.
