Slow Timer in presentation

May 19, 2011

Hello,

One of the users of a presentation I recently made has been having an odd problem.  When he gets to the last part of an interaction the timer slows down, and advances "about 1 second per every 6 real seconds".  The voiceover goes on as normal but the timer is obviously no longer synched with it, so even after the narration has ended he has to sit and stare at the screen for a few minutes before it will let him move on to the next slide.

This is hard for me to troubleshoot because he's not at the same physical location and I can't reproduce the problem on my computer.  Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Hi Steven,

'Not sure if this is related, but it does sound similar to an issue I was having recently... but in the opposite direction.  In other words, the timer was advancing faster -- at about a 2:1 ratio.

The net impact for me was that the elapsed and total presentation times showed a value that was 2x that of the actual content.  And, some slides advanced to the next slide before the audio narration was complete on my slides with video in them.

After much trial and error, I finally stumbled upon the "Publish slides at ___ frames per second" option in Articulate Presenter under Presentation Options > Publish tab.

In my case, I doubled the frames per second setting (from 15 fps to 30 fps) and that fixed the issue.

Again, I'm not sure if this will fix your issue, but it might be worth a looksee.
