stealthray.swf
Mar 13, 2012
I apologize that this may be a question that has been asked many times ... I'm sure ... but the answers I found on your forum ... were a little too techy for me. Can someone put this in laymans terms please. I am new to Articulate and have lots of learnin to do!!
Here are some responses to a question about a pesky little guy called "stealthray.swf"
Who is he and why must he be so stealth and present himself when I am trying to launch newly created Articulate presentations?
http://www.articulate.com/forums/articulate-presenter/1325-stealthray-swf.html
None of these posts answer my question in a way that I can understand. What do I do with him?
So ... far ... I have simply ignored him. I do not accept, allow or block. He presents every time that I create a presentation. Will my users experience him? If yes, what am I to do?
Thank in advance for your assistance.

Welcome to Heroes, CC!
I think Justin does a good job of breaking down and explaining the issue- and how to workaround it- in this earlier thread. Essentially, you should not test web or LMS content offline due to browser and Flash player security restrictions.
If you'd like to proceed with testing your content offline, you'll want to publish your presentation to CD and open via the Launch_Presentation.exe. If you are planning on distributing your content online, you should upload the content to your web server or LMS, and test it there.
We are seeing the same error when running the course on a web server, but only for machines running Win 7. On XP i can run the browser-based version of the course locvally or through the web server with now errors.
A thousand pardons! After further investigation I realized that the link to the course we were given was pointing directly to the course on the web server and was therefore an offline version, and not as it should have been, pointing to the URL.
Thanks for checking back in, Stephen So you're all set now, and the course is running properly?
Everything is working properly, it was as we say in our industry pilot error.
