Strange Issue with Monitor Display

Mar 21, 2012

Hi Everyone,

My issue doesnt' have anything to do with Articulate software, but it has our IT team stumped so I though I might ask if anyone else had this issue and can recommend what can be done to resolve it.

When I use extended desktop mode, my Microsoft Office 2010 programs don't display correctly. They kind of look like they have been switched to a high-contrast mode or something.  When I have it set for just clone display or single display everything displays normally.  I've also taken my laptop and hooked it up with someone else's monitor and it still happens.  This problem apparently normally happens when you don't have the screen resolution for your laptop set to the same screen resolution as the monitor and they have checked that out and it isn't the issue.

I have Windows XP, and have been using the Office 2010 programs for almost a year.

The image on the top is what my PowerPoint menu normally looks like, and the image on the bottom is what the menu looks like when I'm in extended desktop mode. If you compare the Slide Orientation button you can see the difference!

Thanks!

Hi Honny,

Sorry to hear you have encountered this problem. It is quite frustrating!

I'm not sure exactly what it means, since the IT staff here fixed it for me.  I had done some google-searching online to try to help find information for them about the issue since they were stumped by it. Here are the links I found that I forwarded to them - hope this helps.
