Text Shadow Too Dark
Mar 15, 2011
I'm having an issue where in PP 2007, I put a shadow on my text. When I publish it, the shadow turns dark black. I've attached pictures for examples. The first picture is what my PP slide looks like, the second picture is what it looks like when I publish it. This is happening on all slides that have a shadow. I'm using elephant font the size varies depending upon the slide.
I'm not using smart art. I've tried changing the color to a light grey, I've also tried having it as a black shadow with a transparency, and neither of those seems to help. Anyone have suggestions? Thanks!

Hi Chandra & welcome to Heroes,
Are you using “Offset Center” and “Inside Center” text shadows? If so, please see the link below:

If you continue to have issues, can you replicate the issue if you're using a different font?
Actually I was doing offset bottom....but apparently I was putting the shadow on by 'shape effects' instead of 'text effects'. Thank you so much for your help!
No problem. Glad to help!
Hi guys!
I've made sure that I'm using text effects and not shape effects now, and the dark shadow problem that I was having has gone (thanks Chandra for pointing that out).
However, I've noticed that the blur that I had on the shadow is lost during publishing. It only seems to happen to text. I have ppt shapes on the same slide with blurred drop shadows that have rendered perfectly. Does anyone know a fix for this? I'm using PPT 2010 and Articulate 09.
Thanks!
