Videos won't play on all machines

Mar 02, 2015

I've just built my first two training modules using Articulate studio 13. Both modules contain some video clips. These clips are in MP4 format. I've asked some colleagues to review the modules before I roll them out to the whole workforce. All of the reviewers use Windows PCs. Some of them can see the videos but others get a blank space where the video should be. Has anybody come across this and do you know what the solution might be?

Hi Bernadette!

Be sure that you are publishing and sharing your content as explained here. In short, that the material has been uploaded to its intended environment and tested there. Also, if you are utilizing a server to distribute the contents, check this out.

If you need a temporary place to test, I would recommend that you check out Tempshare.

Hi Leslie,
Thanks for that advice.
Our problem seems to be that not all of our computers can play MP4.
My IT department are saying that they only support .wmv files
When I uploaded a .wmv file to Articulate the system seemed to change it into a .jpg file
Is there any setting I can change to keep it as a .wmv file or any other 'workaround' that you're aware of.
Thanks
Bernadette
