Cannot apply feedback theme to Master

Dec 15, 2013

Hi,

When I follow the tutorial for working with feedback themes, by QM '13 Update 1 is not cooperating. When a open feedback view and select any theme from those available, the theme selection is applied, but does not persist. If I close feedback master view and then look at a question, I see that the earlier feedback theme is still in effect. I have seen another poster with this issue, but the issue was not addressed.

Hi there Allen,

I just responded to your earlier post

If you're following the steps to apply the theme to a new project and it's not working, I would recommend checking to the file locations of your project and theme files.

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).

Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.

If you're still having trouble with the template applying to slides/questions in your quiz, are you able to share the theme file here?

Thanks!

Hi Robin,

This thread is a bit older, but I know that the feedback masters are something we've heard about in the forums before. If you'd like us to take a look at your file though to determine if there is something specific that is occurring we're always happy to weigh in and offer advice or determine if it's a bug. You can post it here or you can send it along to our Support engineers here.

As the original poster of this issue, I can bring you up to speed on how my experience went. I was likewise encouraged to send a package in for review and testing. I complied. Articulate replicated the issue and explained that their engineers would look into the issue to investigate the cause. It was further explained that an ETA of a fix could not be provided, but that it would be addressed in a future update.

That was over 2 years ago. Good luck to you.

Hi Allen,

Thanks for saying you worked on a case with our Support engineers and I was able to track that down. I took a look at the report filed with our team, and I see that our QA team was able to confirm that the themes are not applied to the feedback masters by design. They did mark to that based on user feedback such as this thread, they'll investigate including it as a possible feature in a future update or version. I cannot offer a time frame in regards to that, but once we have additional information we'll try to keep folks informed in threads such as this one.
