I created a short project using Quizmaker 09; it runs on the Web. I created it on a PC and Zipped the files. When I unzip it (on both PC and Mac I have two folders and a single html file. The project works on both of my systems when I click the file.
My clients are unable to open the file and they are seeing different file names. Here is a screen shot that they sent me. " Here's what I get when I click the player.html file."
Did you ask your client if they unzipped it before trying to launch it? It is possible that they are not used to working with zipped files.
I'm not sure if this is the problem, but I noticed that there are a couple % signs in the address bar, indicating that the name of your project contains spaces. I would suggest not using spaces when you name your files, as that can sometimes cause issues (to be clear, I am talking about the actual .story file name and the folder name, not the course name that appears on the screen).
Other than that, I would suggest trying it out in another browser, though there is no reason it shouldn't work in Chrome.
Hope one of those things work for you. If not, hope someone else can help you out on this one!
This stressed them out. Now they want the courser to be fully Powerpoint-based. I can't think any tools that allow you to create flash-based quizzes that can be inserted into PP slides.
I would agree with Allison, it doesn't look like the client unzipped the package before double clicking the player.html file. Getting a white screen is a common result of this.
I spoke with a couple of my co-workers who confirmed that based on the screenshot it looks like they did not unzip the file.
I would suggest uploading the course to an FTP server and sending your client a direct link, that way they won't have to worry about unzipping it and it will take away the stress.
You can insert Quizmaker into a PowerPoint presention if that makes them feel more comfortable, but you'll still have to publish it since PowerPoint doesn't allow you to publish to flash on its own.
Thanks for the prompt reply.
I'm new to Articulate. How would you publish it this way? What is the process?
(I'm guessing create blank slide, create a flaw movie of some kind, insert the movie on the the blank slide.)
The client wants top keep it in Powerpoint format. (I know, bad news.)
I'm sorry to hear that your client is having so many issues with the different publication types. If this ever happens again, it may be best to have your client submit a support case with us directly so that we can help them figure out what the problem is.
In the meantime, you could try using Tempshare http://tempshare.articulate.com/ to share the published course with your clients. It's private and the link will expire in 10 days.
Just an option for them so they can view the course.

Am I missing something?

Hi Richard,
You can actually just insert the quizmaker quiz directly into PowerPoint using Articulate Presenter. Here is a link that explains how to do it.
I'm not sure if that will meet your client's standards of "PowerPoint format", but I'm not sure of any other way to do it.
Then you can just publish the entire PowerPoint presentation using Articulate Presenter. Here is a link that explains how to publish.
Let me know if you need any more help.

Thanks for all of your help. I have version 9 so my options are limited.
The client can't get anything to work, including the CD option, and fell back to the "must be a Powerpoint slideshow" requirement.
I sent them a short email, withdrawing from the project.
I've never had this problem before (and hope that I never have it again.) I'm looking forward to upgrading to 2012 as soon as I can afford to.
Richard
