Duplicate audio

Jan 13, 2014

Hello - I have a situation where I am getting duplicate audio on my Quizmaker slides.  Audio editor only has one, "track"; when I preview the slides - It has two!  Has anyone ever encountered this?  Many thanks,  Matthew Brady

Hi Matthew and welcome to the community!

Sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with your quiz's audio. Hopefully we can get that resolved for you.

First, please make sure that you're working with local project files:

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).

Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.

Also, please make sure you're running the most recent update for Quizmaker.

If you're using Quizmaker '09, the most recent update can be found here.

If you're using Quizmaker '13, the most recent update can be found here.

If you still have trouble after checking your files and your version, please let me know if you're using Quizmaker '09 or '13.

Also, does this happen if you create a new, blank quiz? Please try creating a new quiz and see if inserted audio duplicates in your new project.

Thanks and welcome again!
