We would like to track failed quizzes. In order to do this without an LMS, I'd like to show the user their results after they post their results to a server.
How would I go about doing this? And anyone know the best method to transmit results to a asp or sql server? Something compatible with Access. Thank you so much.
To show the end-user their results, you can enable the print results button in the pass / fail result slides. For more information, see the "allow user to print results" section in the link below:
Thanks for the reply. So I wanted to confirm, that I'd be able to set up a quiz where results are recorded to a server before the user sees how they have done on the quiz. This way, the user can't choose to not send if they didn't pass, the failed must be recorded. Thanks
The guide you sent earlier to use a 3rd party is great. His instructions re-configure the e-mail results button. I would not like to use an LMS.
So my question is, can I force the user to use the e-mail results button before seeing their results? For example, can the e-mail results button be put on the second to last slide, and the results on the last. Thanks.
You won't be able to force them to click the button. However, you could put a really scary disclaimer on the result slide that convinces the end-user to click it.
ha, I wish but can't rely on that, its for doctors. I guess I'm just shocked considering in the real world, we submit a test or quiz before we see what we got on it. And to only way to keep the student accountable seems to be by using an LMS.
If I offer the quiz on a site that doesn't use a LMS login, is it possible to still use a LMS to record the quiz results? Is there any way I could still have the student enter an identifier somehow? This site is actually already secured, can the user name be passed to the LMS as an identifier? Thanks.
I'm sure that you could attach an identifier, but I really don't know how it would work. Without an LMS, it's going to be near impossible to record the result.

Hi Mike & welcome to Heroes,
In regards to getting the data into a database, check out the unsupported method here:

Hi Mike,
By default, the score is recorded when the content is closed (at least in an LMS). I'm not sure how it would work with a third party solution.

Right, so lets say I set up an LMS such as Moodle. Do I need a user to login to Moodle, in order for quiz results to be recorded with Moodle?
I believe that Moodle does provide guest access, but I'm not sure how it records the data in that scenario.
I have created an open source solution, see my post, it works the same way. It's MSSQL but I will work on a version to MS Access as well.
