I had high hopes for Quizmaker
Jun 13, 2011
I teach music theory. I was hoping Quizmaker would allow me to make the kinds of quizzes I wanted, but it cannot. I could not find software by other vendors that could either, and I don't have the time to program my own.
Selecting a small collection of answer choices is cumbersome and does not pedagogically work well with the types of problems I need to quiz. Instead, every question should contain all possible answer choices. For example, here's one type of problem that I would like to be able to quiz. The question reads, "Identify the root, quality and position of the triad." and a graphic is given.
There needs to be 4 drop-down boxes arranged horizontally. The first contains the seven letters A-G; the second contains the five accidentals double-sharp, sharp, natural, flat, and double flat; the third contains the qualities augmented, major, minor, and diminished; and the fourth contains the positions five-three, six-three, and six-four. So, an asnwer could be something like B flat major six-three.
Furthermore, it would be really useful if answer choices could contain graphics, and if there was better font support because there are a lot of special music characters.
Please consider passing my comments along to the programming team.
Best,
Paul
