java script alert for users running Chrome on Macbook
Sep 01, 2015
Hi,
I have users testing a quiz. A few have complained that they get an error message when they unzip the files and then try to use the quiz.html file. The message is as follows:
JavaScript Alert
Adobe Flash Player has stopped a potentially unsafe operation. The following local application on your computer or network:
/users/blahblah/Desktop/SCR%20Quiz/quiz.swf
is trying to communicate with this Internet-enabled location:
/Users/blahblah/Desktop/SCR Quiz/quiz.html
Then it has an OK button. When the users click OK, the box goes away and nothing else happens. Any suggestions on how to make this work for these users?
Thanks!
Angie

This is also happening for users running on Windows 7, with Chrome and Firefox.
Hi Angie,
You mentioned unzipping the file - you'll want to make sure folks are testing the published output within the intended environment as described here. If they're testing it locally things such as Javascript may not work as expected.
