Making the Quizmaker Essay Field transparent?

Jun 05, 2013

Hi,

I'm using an Essay survey question, and I would like the users to type their response onto what looks like a sheet of notepaper. The notepaper is an image that's 'sent to back' and the essay field is positioned on top of it (see attached example).

Despite trying to modify the design colors, I just can't seem to get the essay field to be transparent with no border or line.

I know I could forgo the pretty accents, but the material is pretty dry, so anything I can do to keep the variety and engagement is vital!  And besides, it's frustrating me now and I can't let it go till I know the solution!!

Thanks for any suggestions.

Jo

Hi Jo!

I'm afraid that this may be working as designed. I haven't been able to find a way to modify the transparency or colors of the entry field for a survey. If you'd like to see more options available for this feature, please send your suggestions to our development team in a feature request

What you could do, though, is modify the slide around the entry field instead. I'm not sure if this is an option for you, but it may keep the flow of the slide. For example, you could modify the color of the sheet of paper so that it matches that of the text field. To help this stand out a little more, you could modify the background color of the slide.

I think you did a great job with the slide design, hopefully you'll be able to work this into your survey.

Good luck with the project!
