Quiz always asks to resume where you left off...

Jan 11, 2013

I have a course published in SCORM1.2 that has a few introductory slides in it, a quiz, and then a closing slide. It was built in Power Point with Presenter and Quizmaker. The issue I'm having, both in my LMS and SCORM cloud is that the quiz always asks to resume, even when the user has failed it and finished it. The quiz is set to report pass/fail to the LMS, but obviously if you fail it, you want the user to have to retake it. It offers an unlimited number of attempts, but as long as I have the option to resume where you left off, it keeps asking, even if I've failed and clearly need to restart. Anyway to fix this? Thanks!

When I do that, the quiz no longer allows you to resume if you leave mid quiz. The gist is this. If the user completed the quiz and failed, then we want the presentation, created in powerpoint, with an Articualate quiz inserted to restart. If they exit the quiz before answering all questions, then they should be able to return. Is this not possible? Thanks!

Thanks Phil. It seems as if the issue lies with the "suspend-data.cmi" call that is sent back to the LMS if you're using an LMS. If you're using just an Articulate course and no LMS, this issue still happens, but like you said Phil, it's becuase of a lack of options within the course. Steve, what we've had to do is change our quiz failed slide to say "If you re-enter this course, do not select the resume option, and you will be able to retake the quiz." The important thing to remember is that even if they do select resume, they won't be able to go back and alter their answers after the fact, cheating if you will. They'll simply have to close the course and reopen it. Phil, is there a way to suggest this option for 2013? Thanks!
