Quizmaker Text Label
Apr 24, 2014
I edited a text label on a quizmaker file and saved the file. When I preview in Quizmaker, the new text label appears correctly. However, when I insert the Quizmaker file into the Presenter file and preview there, the labels revert back to the default. I've tried redoing the files, saving different ways, editing the Quizmaker file from the Presenter file, etc. Nothing is working. The settings is saved to the Quizmaker file so I don't know why it's not showing correctly once the Quizmaker file is inserted into the Presenter file. Any ideas?

Hi Natosha!
Here is a document explaining how quizzes and interactions are stored in Presenter '13.
When creating, editing, and publishing Articulate Presenter '13 courses, be sure you're working on your local hard drive (typically your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, such as file corruption, an inability to save changes, and loss of resources. See this article for more information.
I'm having the same problem and I have created both the articulate files and quizmaker in the same folder of my hard drive. I have even created the Quizmaker directly from the presentation deck.
Any advice?
Hi Joo! Sounds like your situation may be a bit different as you mention that you are creating the quiz from within Presenter. Where is the error occurring? Are you not seeing the update version during preview? What about when you publish?
I figured out that the Presenter file has it's own Text Labels that you need to set. So after inserting the Quizmaker file into the Presenter file, go to your Player template and select Text Labels. You can update the verbiage there. I'm attaching a screenshot that should help you see what I'm talking about. Also, if you've already updated all of the text verbiage in the Quizmaker file, you can save that as a .XML doc and pull it through to the Presenter file Text Labels. That's what the folder and save icons represent in the screenshot - go to the Quizmaker file > Player template > Text Labels > save your verbiage > then inser the Quizmaker file into the Presenter file > Player template > Text Labels > then open the folder and find your saved .XML file. Hope this helps you - Good luck!
