Sequence Drag and Drop Issue

Sep 15, 2011

I've had two instances of users unable to select the choices and move them up or down. Each individual was able to initially move them, but after several failed attempts, the mouse pointer no longer displays the "hand" to grab and move the selection. This test question has worked flawlessly for others. I thought once was a fluke, but two might indicate a future problem.

I verified that quiz settings are set to "unlimited attempts"

Hi Glen & welcome to Heroes,

Since the issue appears to only happen on a few machines, I'd recommend that your end-users try the following:

1) Upgrade Adobe Flash Player here:

http://www.adobe.com/go/getflash

2) Clear your browser cache. You can do this in Internet Explorer by going to Tools > Internet Options > General > Temporary Internet Files. Select Delete Cookies and Delete Files.

3) Also in Internet Options, on the Security, Privacy, and Advanced tabs, reset everything to its default settings. There is a button on each tab to reset defaults.

4) In Windows Vista / 7, go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Run.  In Windows XP, go to Start > Run.

5) Copy / paste the following line of text (depending on your operating system) into the Run dialog box. Click OK, and delete the entire contents of the window (folder) that opens.

Windows Vista / 7:

"C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects"

Windows XP:

"C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects"

6) Close all browser windows for the changes to take effect, and then test your content again.

Thanks Brian,

I'll try clearing the Shared Objects folder - yesterday I tried clearing the browser cache without success.

As far as security settings, those are locked down by our company IT security folks.

The quirky thing is that it has only occurred twice, and even then it was after the individual had successfully tried it several times; but since they left that module and went on to other training I think clearing the dead files might do the trick.
