Test / Quizzes

Nov 25, 2019

Hi,

Our subscribed LMS Test software is coming to and end (Brillium) and I am looking for some advice from others on how you use articulate for stand alone, end of curriculum final tests? Appreciate that it may not be possible to extract any test analytics from storyline, but was wondering if I could get more information on:

a) Storyline Quiz Maker - what is this and how does this differ to using a quiz scene/results slide within a storyline project?

b) Storyline 360 - does this advanced version of storyline offer more substantial quizzing options, if so - what are these features?

If any L&D professional could also provide any information of some Testing Software they use in their LMS to run analytics (and reasonably priced) this would also be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Dean!

I'm eager to hear other community members answer these questions!

First, building quizzes in Quizmaker 360 and Storyline 360 are designed in a similar fashion! The deciding factor would be how you plan to use the quiz. For example, if you're creating a Storyline 360 project and adding a quiz, then I'd recommend staying in Storyline 360. If you're using Presenter, then it would be easier to create a quiz in Quizmaker 360 and import it into Presenter.

Secondly, there is quite a bit of difference between Storyline 360 and Storyline 3. The main difference between the two is the Storyline 360 is a part of the Articulate 360 annual subscription, and Storyline 3 is a perpetual license. Articulate 360 receives continuous product updates which include bug fixes and new features. Actually, we just launched our new Trigger Panel for a quicker workflow. Storyline 3 is only updated with bug fixes. You can read more about the comparison here.

Hi Dean,

If you want to use a test site, you can try your articulate based content on this site. This demo site is built on WordPress + LearnDash + GrassBlade xAPI Companion + GrassBlade Cloud LRS.

Site: https://demo.nextsoftwaresolutions.com

Login details are available on homepage.

There are three different options available, and you can try LearnDash LMS or WP Courseware LMS or LearnPress. These are popular LMS for WordPress.

What you can test,

  1. Upload your xAPI Exported Content. Note: xAPI is required for reporting, like quiz answers.
  2. Track in-depth reports in GrassBlade Cloud LRS.
  3. You can use Articulate Storyline or Rise 360 or any other tools that can export content wrapped in xAPI package.
  4. Also, there are several pre-uploaded contents on the site. You can try them.

I hope you find this information useful for your testing.

Thanks & Regards.
