one more question: can you randomise questions from two different groups, so they don't appear [randomised Qs from Group1] followed by [randomised Qs from Group2]?
If you want to randomize all of the questions, you'll want to put them all into a single group. You can delete question groups by moving all of the questions into your first group, right-clicking the group heading & choosing Delete.

The timer in Quizmaker starts as soon as the quiz opens; currently there isn't a way to adjust that, but feature requests are welcome!
About your other question - yep, you can could publish your quiz to Word, which you can learn more about right here: http://community.articulate.com/tutorials/products/publishing-a-quiz-to-word.aspx
