Tracking of Individual Question Attempts?

Sep 26, 2014

Hi!

I have a company interal client who wishes to track totals ofcorrect/incorrect responses to individual questions in quizzes on a per user basis. Is it possible to do this in Quizmaker or Storyline? Our LMS will track overall quiz attempts per user, but not down to the question level.

I have not attempted to create a quiz with the features my client is asking for. So I don't even know if it's possible. Can anyone provide some insight?

Thanks,

Josh

Hi Joshua!

The following information gets communicated to a learning management system (LMS) by Articulate Quizmaker '13 SCORM and AICC content:

  • id: Quizmaker sends a series of data for this string. The most useful portion is theSlide#, which is the number of the slide in that particular question group.
  • type: This is the type of question (True/False, Multiple Choice, Multiple Response, etc).
  • student_response: This is how the learneranswered the question.
  • correct_response: This is the correctanswer for the question.
  • result: This designates whether the learneranswered the question correctly or not.
  • weighting: Articulate content doesn't currently use this item. It'll always be1.
  • latency: This is how long it took the learnerto answer the question.
  • objective: Articulate content doesn'tcurrently usethis item. It'll always be 0.

Tip: SCORM 2004 also communicates the question text to an LMS.

It would be up to the LMS on how they reported on the data sent.

Hi Emilia and welcome to E-Learning Heroes 😊

Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing in your project file.

I'm curious if you're seeing this in another environment, such a SCORM Cloud or if this is an issue specific to your LMS.
