File Size Increasing and Errors
Jun 09, 2023
Hi,
I recorded around an hour and 20 minute's footage through Replay, with the intention of editing it down. However, I also wanted to insert other videos and images but when I attempted to do so a report error window was displayed. Additionally, when I attempted to save the file, a "media too long" error message was displayed. When I tried to delete the inserted file the error window was displayed again. Due to this, I had to close Replay without saving.
Upon loading the last saved file, I started to cut unwanted sections in order to see if I could prevent the error occurring again (this was only possible if large sections were removed). Upon saving I noticed that, despite removing content, the file size had increased. I removed all the content and saved again, and the file size still remained the same!
Why are both of these issues occurring and how can they be fixed?
Regards,
Matt

Hi Matt,
Thanks so much for reaching out! Sorry to hear you've run into this snag!
I'd like to recommend a few workarounds in order to better assist you:
Download and install 7-Zip, a free extraction tool.
Right-click the Replay project file, scroll to 7-Zip and choose Extract to <name of your project>.
A folder with the same name will be created in the same location as your project file. Simply open it to see the extracted contents. (You won't be able to decipher or use some items.)
Open the Replay folder and then the Media folder to find your videos. (You might need to change the file format for each video from *.bin to *.mpeg.)
Please let me know your findings. If you are still having issues after saving a copy of your project and recovering your corrupted file, we'd be happy to take a closer look at your file. Feel free to share in this thread or privately within a support case.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
