Recording Issues with 4K Monitor

Hi there,
I just purchased a 28" Samsung 4K monitor - http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/monitors/LU28D590DS/ZA
I am having a problem with recording with Replay. When I set the dimensions to record, it is:
1. Actually including the "red" outline box in the recording
2. It does not record my desired area
*** I read an article about setting my screen resolution to 96dpi "smallest" setting, but that makes my icons EXTREMELY small to see.
Help!

Hi Kevin,
Are you recording at full screen or a particular size? I don't know that I've seen it include the red outline - so if you have a .replay file for us to take a look at that would be helpful. Have you tried adjusting the screen resolution? Did that change the overall behavior? I know the DPI setting may be small for your high resolution monitor, and we've had some feedback from users about a need for more support for high res monitor, so you'll also want to share your thoughts on that in the form of a feature request.
Hi Ashley,
I am attaching a video of my issue -- I am attempting to record with specific dimensions. Full screen won't work because the height/width cannot exceed 2000.
I also made a request with the feature request.
Thanks Kevin - it looks like maybe your video ended too soon, as I didn't get to see what it captured? What's the size you're seeing the recording window too?
Try this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glXgJgSeW6E&feature=youtu.be
I recorded the video at about 1212X1320.. But, it did not obey my desired area I wanted to capture.
Hi Kevin,
Same thing - that video only goes till about 32 seconds and stops right after you say "I'm going to stop recording and see what it's captured..."
The largest I can record on my monitor is 1212 x1072 and that does capture just within the red box as expected. Maybe if you're able to share the .replay file that goes with the above capture i can see what you're recording is picking up in the periphery?
Yes, I'm confused... That IS the whole video..
After I click "publish", that's literally my video.
Ahhhh...ok. I thought that was a video of you showing me what was happening in terms of how you'd record and then what you were seeing.
So it's capturing to the right and left of the limits, but not above it? Have you tried capturing at a smaller screen size or with the different resolution to the screen? Did that change the behavior or set up at all?
This is me trying to record a smaller version. Same issue.
And yes, it's recording the "left" ok.. It's not recording the "right"... It also includes the red box which is wrong.
Thanks Kevin - I'm still not able to replicate it as I suspect it's based on the large screen size. I see that you sent in the same info yesterday as a feature request, so I changed that to a support case so that our team could work with you to get a better sense of what's happening. As I mentioned I know that recording with high resolution monitors has some difficulties based on our need for a DPI setting of 96, but I haven't seen it include the red lines as you've shown.
I'm having the red line issue as well. Attached is a video snippet showing the red line. Any recommendations about how to fix?? Replay resolution is: 1052x576. My screen is 1920x1080. Thanks
You're going to have to change the resolution of your screen in the Windows settings somewhere.
Find your display settings and keep messing around with different screen resolutions and you'll eventually figure it out!
Hope this helps,
Kevin
